It could be aliens, or more likely a mutant's behavior. If you can contact Fast Jack, you might mention to him that he is the board operator that has the board being attacked. It has an effect on everyone else. If he were to turn on per post captcha when under attack, or have a volunteer do it. It might be beneficial to allow the volunteers be the only one who can make threads and lock threads. This is available in his board operator toolkit. He might not be aware.
