Switches are better than buttons in regards to having manual override in devices. If you want to turn something off, you should switch it off. A button can turn it off but a button can sometimes be pressed internally as well to deem it back on. That is one of the problems with buttons. You can have buttons on your phones, computers, appliances, ovens, cars, etc. But you should also have switches. Also, removable batteries is a must. At least 2 removable batteries plus 2 removable clock batteries on top of that. Plus, batteries should be water-proof, rechargeable, shock-proof, etc. You must have power generators, alternative power sources. You must have different ways to generate and store power. Not just solar power. You must have Faraday Cage which you can make for free out of metal food cans or anything made out of the right type of metals. In general, some metal, perhaps even the wrong types of metal even, is better than no metal at all. Keep some things in plastic or other methods of keeping some things waterproofed. Put stuff in metal cans. Just open up canned food. Clean out the cans. Put the metal lid into a jar lid that fits the can. Free Faraday cage.
