Anybody interested in solar? We have a large system that we installed ourselves. 54 panels with a 100’ expanse. They pull in 15,000 watts per hour (when the sun is shining), and are connected to three charge controllers and three inverters. We use 24, two volt flooded lead acid batteries that require some upkeep. We also have a 14,000 watt propane generator for backup. It’s miraculous that it works, and during sunny days we have more power than we can use. It is not for everyone, however. Life has to be adjusted for cloudy or snowy days, and at night.

@JohnPeck That’s a large system! We are offgrid as well. (9) x 265W with a MidNite Classic 150 and a Magnum 4024PAE inverter. Generac Eco 6kW propane backup.
@JohnPeck What does it cost to install them & how long do they last?
