It is often said that this is a scary world to bring children into. That may well be, but there are two reasons (at least) to do it anyway. 1. The more children the godly raise, the more habitable the world becomes. The godly are to shape the world because we are made in the image of God who first formed the world. In order to do that, there have to be Christians... doing that. 2. God understands that the world is evil and He commanded us to bring light and order to the world for that specific purpose. God's command to Jacob, for example, comes in light of this concern and God alleviates it by reminding Jacob that He is God Almighty (Gn. 35:11). Therefore, the response is not to wave away the evil world, but to remind you that it is for this very reason that we must obey and fear God. He knows and He has a plan. You are the plan. Make some babies. Raise some saints.
