Gospel Reflection for The 28th day of August in the year of Our Lord, 2026 Memorial of Saint Augustine, Bishop and Doctor of the Church Today’s Gospel reminds me of a sermon preached by the Baptist minister, Dr. Charles Stanley. I well recall him holding up his Bible and repeating over and over, “The Bible says, once saves always saved.” That could not be further from the truth.
