"The self-licking ice cream cone" https://juliusruechel.substack.com/p/the-self-licking-ice-cream-cone The West is slowly strangling itself with its own over-regulation and over-taxation as we are held hostage by self-perpetuating institutions whose primary purpose is to serve themselves. In Canada, this self-inflicted paralysis has become so extreme that the govt recently passed a law to give itself the right to suspend the law in order to get around its own self-inflicted obstructionism and bureaucratic red tape. Rather than fix the problem, the govt chose to create a loophole for itself and its preferred partners, thus effectively admiting that the only way to get anything important done in Canada anymore is to bypass the law. And so, are we surprised that the world is increasingly "looking East" for alternate options?
