Part two I exhausted all efforts to alleviate my symptoms and nothing worked. I didn’t want to resign myself to a life of feeling drained and ill most of time, but I was just about ready to tear my hair out with how frustrating and difficult the condition was to treat. I then remembered a book I received as a present that I had put aside to read but forgot about. It is called Herbal Remedies for everyday living by Anne McIntyre. It is an encyclopaedia of a variety of herbs used to treat many different ailments: from headaches to gout, from acne to thyroid problems, and everything in between. There wasn’t a specific section on candida, so I looked up the chapter on allergies. It gave a list of herbs that can be used to make your own tea. I went to a health store that sold loose herbs and fortunately found three herbs that I needed were already mixed with other herbs in a bag labelled “digestion”. They were Chamomile (20%), Fennell (20%), Lemon balm (20%), Peppermint (20%) and Marshmallow root (20%). I took 3-6 tea spoons of loose herbs per day in a teapot (with a drainer) of boiling water. I noticed a small improvement after 6 weeks and a significant improvement after four months. Some debilitating symptoms that I had for 20 years were eliminated after 6 months. I drank the herbal tea in conjunction with a healthy diet (free range meat, wild fish, veg, fruit, coconut oil, olive oil, free range eggs, goats milk/cheese), a pro biotic and zinc supplement. I would encourage anyone to invest some of their time looking into the healing power of herbs, particularly if they have exhausted all other efforts to get well.
