Getting Public Records from most municipalities is like pulling teeth. And it’s most of them in the area. 95% of the time, the public servants in charge of these records have asked for an AG decision, which they have the right to do, but why is the question. If you have nothing to hide, make them available to the public ASAP. But if you get caught with a tail light out, drive too fast down the road, have an argument where police are called, etc., these same public servants will have your mug shot and the story behind it up online for the world to see within hours thru their favorite news agencies. Shameful!! We asked for a simple request, 7 days last year where an officer used “use of force” and an arrest was made. We clearly had the date, the time, the place and the persons who we were concentration on listed in the request. Yet Will Ramsay, the Hopkins County Tx District attorney claims in his AG determination request that our request is a “lengthy” and a “blanket” request. Are you kidding me? Do they have that many Hopkins County deputy Body cam videos where “use of force” was used on members of the public in a 7 day period? I would sure hope not.
