Why Tucker Carlson Got Fired ...the message to take therefrom; and a celebration of some good Americans who have taken that message to heart. IF YOU'VE BEEN PAYING ATTENTION over the last few years, you already know this answer to my title question: Tucker Carlson did NOT get fired from Fox News for telling lies. Quite the contrary. Carlson got fired for telling the truth. The core lesson from that fact is usefully derived from a famous declaration attributed (perhaps inaccurately, but surely as a fit and well-grounded homage) to George Orwell: "In a time of deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." That lesson is that when truth draws disapprobation and suppression from the powerful, and is demonstrated thereby to be a threat to an agenda, the agenda must be evil. Further, in our particular circumstances today, when the truth is being faced with suppression are little more than statements and observations of what until yesterday had been the views of the majority (and very likely remain so, as suggested by the relevant ratings for Carlson and others singing from the same hymnal), it must be recognized that it is the deceit that is the revolutionary act-- and that is the most important thing to understand. We ARE in a moment of revolution. It is a revolution being perpetrated against Western Civilization and its moral and legal underpinnings which had for the past several hundred years been slowly but surely triumphing over the barbarisms universal in the world before its ascendancy, and producing unprecedented liberty, security and prosperity.
