I think this is my favorite North Dakota barn shot. I was pheasant hunting with my boys and a good friend. II could see the sunset developing an hour before it happened and told my friend, "Tonight you will witness one of the best sunsets you've ever seen." So, we set off in search of a barn, on a ridge line, with western exposure on the face. The problem is that most of the barns are gone. Through a series of events we were told by one guy about his cousin's barn to the north, but we got there and it was not a good subject, so we pressed on. I could see the sunset developing and nothing was in sight. My friend kicked it up to 80mph and as I desperately scanned with my eyes, Bruce said, "How about that one?" I replied, "That's it!" There was no road to it and I knew the sunset was almost over and was prepared to run the half mile with my gear but Bruce said, "No, I'll get you there." We found the field road and got there just in time to grab this pic. I absolutely love it. I think it will go on the cover of the Barns book. Anyway, if you like barns and want to know when the book comes out in the future follow @LumberjackLogic - you will also have to put up with my Conservative commentary and podcast. LOL.
