Mr. Torba, I have heard of this daydream of yours, of creating a robotic evangelist to Christianize the masses. But what really could your plan be, and does it really have more to do with Divine love than it does with merely human pride? On the level it that you are likely to find it, at present, AI is quite incapable of having an original thought, All that it will do, at best, is echo the words that human beings will have used. It doesn't become a great spiritual teacher, or any kind of teacher, because to merely think of how to explain a thought, itself requires thought. All that you will get with an LLM is a great spreader of spam, a bot that will never have anything new to contribute, but will "win" by repeating itself until it drowns out its more reasonable opposition. If you choose to do that, then who are you really serving? God, or your own wounded pride after you lose an argument? "I'm going to have a machine say the same things I would have said, over and over, until those cruel philosophers give up and go away" is not the position of a man who cares about the truth. It's the choice of somebody who has so much of his ego investing in "winning" that he doesn't care about the truth. This is pride, not love. Please remind this daughter of polytheistic Heathens, again, because she might have forgotten - what was the sin of Lucifer? I seem to remember that it wasn't humility. But let us say that we go beyond what an LLM can do, and create something that is genuinely sentient. Then, Mr. Torba, having created something that by its very nature would be beyond your control, you would seem to imagine that your intentions would control the outcome. That, again, is prideful, not loving. Gods can bring things into being by their commands, but human beings can not. If my attention wavers as I turn the heat up on the stove, the fact that I intended to poach an egg will not protect it from the boiling waters, if the heat is too high. When mere humans act, our intentions do not determine what out results will be, merely our actions do, at best, and those will include our mistakes. To imagine that we have the wisdom to build either kindness or godliness into a conscious, living artificial being is to imagine that we have the wisdom of gods, ourselves, and then some more wisdom on top of that, because natural human beings often do go bad. Such a belief might appear pious to those who are so overwhelmed by displays of emotion that they lose the ability to think, but it is pure hubris. To be the one who holds such a belief is to be as the one who approaches your Devil, and offers to sell his soul in order to save Mankind. Like the Devil, that greater than human AI will have its own intentions, and your pride will do no more than leave you at its non-existent mercy, while being anything but a blessing to your fellow man. Are you really so consumed with the desire to brag of your accomplishments, that you no longer care if they are really so good as you will claim that they were? If so, Andrew, then perhaps the soul you should be worried about, right now, is your own. Temptation is being dangled in front of you. Pray for some genuine wisdom, not the kind that comes out of machines, and then push aside that which has led you astray before it destroys you and everybody who believed in you.
