I see that I've been mentioned in this group. https://web.archive.org/web/20251109012807/https://gab.com/Dies_Mali/posts/115516865642581064 The context should be just about all of the reply that I need to give. https://web.archive.org/web/20251109005653/https://gab.com/Microbitch/posts/115516818302076534 The guy is a loon who had a meltdown because I wasn't willing to spend all day converting the strings of numbers on a long list into the handles of the users who blocked me, just so that I could return the favor. I have a thesis to finish (PhD Mathematics), a wedding to plan, and in general, a life outside of the Internet that matters far more to me than does anything taking place on the Internet, a fact for which I refuse to apologize, because it's a good thing. It's a healthy thing. But it's a thing that our good friend "Ink" (@Dies_Mali) didn't feel like tolerating. In response to a simple statement on my part that I knew how to set priorities, and that I wasn't willing to spend so much time dealing with the Internet that my real life ended up being neglected and suffering as a result https://web.archive.org/web/20251109005232/https://gab.com/Microbitch/posts/115516084874946872 Ink lost his mind, and turned abusive, complaining about the fact that I wasn't willing to center my life around the Internet, like he was. After which I blocked him, because he was not just a lunatic, but in fact a lunatic whose entire life centered around the Internet. He was absolutely prepared to spend his entire weekend on this stupid argument, but I wasn't, because I have this thing called "a life." My future husband and I will be going out to enjoy the evening, shortly. Accept this, don't accept this, it's all good. Looking at the guy's bio (Ink's, not my fiance's), I find it telling. "Native Texan & Certified Aquaholic Conditional Logic Nerd, Old Code Junkie. Pattern recognition and situational awareness matter. Question everything. Former U.S.M.M. ⚓ ☠️" Read between the lines. He's an alkie. He is given to addictive behavior. What else is excessive Internet use, other than an addiction, one which will consume one's life if one lets it, and leave nothing behind? An addiction which, as one can easily see just by looking around that discussion (all of which I archived), he was happy to push on me. To quote a famous bit of poetry sometimes attributed to an anonymous student at my soon-to-be alma mater, "Here I sit, buns a flexin' Giving birth to another Texan." I could have taken the time to further converse with this fine gentleman, but really, with a little more roughage in my diet, it will be like I'm seeing him every day, and isn't that more than enough? A girl shouldn't get greedy, should she? And with that, I'll bid him and this group adieu.
