🇬🇷 GREECE ~ ORTHODOX EASTER ☦️ 👉 Ritual burning of the apostle Judas' doll ~ The ritual performance of burning the apostle Judas' doll on the open sea on Easter day is taking place in Ermioni, Peloponnese, since 70s after longer period of the forced ban by ecclesiastical authorities. 👉 The ritual of burning the doll was illustrated by giant messages written by laser on the hill slopes behind the local bay (EASTER 2024, EARTH, FIRE, WATER, AIR, HAPPY EASTER, ERMIONI...) marked by fireworks late in the night. ~ Word "Juda" and word "Jew" has been a synonym in the Greek language, giving a reason to the Holly Synod of the Church of Greece to interfere few times in the encyclicals (1891, 1910, 1918) in order to stop "anti Jewish sentiment".
