Sociable Weaver - Philetairus socius Sociable Weavers' nests are a feature on the southern Namibian Landscape. Uniquely constructed in trees and old telephone poles, the large, thatched nests are shared by dozens of birds, (including other bird species). The nest is kept in repair through all seasons and one has reportedly been used for more than a hundred years. The pics: Sociable Weaver - sexes are alike. An old nest in a Quiver Tree.
