When the Old Testament Israelites asked God for a monarchy, God gave them one, which produced the great Kings David and Solomon. God also said that a Descendent from this lineage would sit upon the throne of David forever. (Jeremiah 33:17). What God didn't do, was say something like: "how foolish you are being, my beloved Israelites! Do you not know that a Constitutional Republic Based On The Rule Of Law And Individual Rights is the only legitimate form of government? I will send you My servants Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, and they will instruct you in My ways." Among the many titles that Jesus Christ has, are "King" and "King Of Kings". He does not have the titles "President", "Prime Minister" or "Secretary General".
