It is time to pay tribute to a great deceased statesman. Happy 2,125th birthday, Julius Caesar! A middle-class political strategist, Caesar conquered France, led his loving Legions to victory in a CIVIL WAR, and bedded Cleopatra, only to be undone by hubris: stabbed in the Senate by his own friends for appointing himself Dictator for Life and threatening the Republic. But he sure had quite a run. As his character said in the Shakespeare play named after him: "Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once."
