Big News Plays Hardball At Pooch Studio we’re always striving to create a better experience for our readers – all six of them. Our complaints department has heard your concerns like: “Your cartoons are too busy, and take too long to read!” and “Are you kidding? I’m trying to scroll here!” Well, by employing time-tested side-by-side-comparison or us-vs-them cartoon technology, a formula, popular with old-school editorial cartoonists and modern-day meme smiths, we’ve created this one just for you! This cartoon is designed to be read in 7-seconds or less (Please allow up to two minutes for hysterical laughter and/or eye-rolling.) Now back to your regularly scheduled scrolling. This one was inspired by the hotrod-monster and sports-fiend bubblegum cards I collected in my youth. For just one nickel a kid could score a pack containing 5 cards – made of sturdy cardboard, and one stick of bubblegum – also made of sturdy cardboard! Those bug-eyed drooling freaks were a huge influence on my early cartooning, and I wore out a couple of pairs of P. F. Flyers making the trek to 7/11 in my quest to collect ‘em all. An early/juvenile influence that you can hardly detect in my current highbrow/sophisticated cartooning style.
