"Universal" preschool, nursery school, or whatever you want to call it is a bad idea. So is the other name for it: daycare. People choose to have children. People who choose to have children should raise them. Taxpayers should not be paying to have infants & toddlers dumped where they are NOT loved by a parent all day. I'm a parent. The care of my children is MY responsibility. Taxpayers shouldn't have to pay to educate my children (and they don't!) in actual school. They sure as heck shouldn't have to pay to babysit my kids before they're actually in school. The state really needs to stop encroaching more and more into what should be family matters.
