Confessional Lutheran Statement I am a Confessional Lutheran. I stand with the 1580 Book of Concord because it is the faithful exposition of Holy Scripture. My confession is quia (because it is), not quatenus (only insofar as it fits modern sensibilities). My Foundation: - Sola Scriptura: The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is the sole authority for all doctrine and life. - Monergistic Salvation: Justification is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Salvation is the work of God, not a cooperative effort of the human will (AC IV, FC SD II). - The Real Presence: In the Sacrament of the Altar, the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ are present, distributed, and eaten under the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins (LC V). - Doctrinal Integrity: Church fellowship is predicated on total agreement in the teaching of the Gospel and the administration of the Sacraments (AC VII). My Rejection of Compromise: I distinguish myself from the ELCA, as well as from "middle-ground" bodies like the NALC and LCMC, on the following grounds: - Authority, Not Accommodation: I reject the ELCA’s "historical-critical" approach, which treats the Bible as a fallible human document to be judged by the spirit of the age. - The Law of God is Unchanging: I affirm the biblical definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. I reject the ordination of those who live in defiance of God’s created order. - The Substance of the Faith: The ELCA has surrendered the historic Christian faith in favor of woke activism and pluralism. They treat the Confessions as suggestions. I reject this dishonesty. - The Failure of "Centrism": I reject the "broad-church" mentality of bodies like the #NALC or #LCMC. While they may reactionarily oppose the most radical excesses of the ELCA, they lack the rigorous, binding doctrinal oversight required to maintain the purity of the Gospel. Without a strict, unified commitment to the Book of Concord, "middle ground" is merely a slow drift toward error. - The Nature of Fellowship: True fellowship requires unity in truth. I reject ecumenical "unity" movements that seek to unite the church with those who deny the Sacraments or the inerrancy of the Word. I do not identify with the #ELCA or any body that treats the Confessions as optional or "open questions." Their paths lead to the dissolution of the faith and the erasure of the church. I stand firmly with the historic, orthodox Confession that acknowledges Christ as Lord over every sphere of life, rejecting the compromises that have made modern #Lutheranism a tool for the very forces eroding Western civilization. #Lutheran
