Connie Kalitta Bounty Hunter : pictured circa 1965-66 Ford 427 cu. in. This engine had been banned from racing in the International Speedway Corporation (ISC, years later renamed Nascar), unless it conformed to restrictions set by ISC owner “Big Bill” France. Ford said no and went looking. They found Connie Kalitta in the Drag Racing circuit. Perfect ! Connie was not only a driver but also a mechanic, as many of them were back then. He knew the Hemi dodge engines about as good as anyone. This Ford was also a Hemi configuration but with overhead cams and other differences, they weren't the same engines.
