Fire is not a gas, solid or liquid. It’s sun-energy, or second-hand plasma. I thought this was fascinating to learn. Most people know that trees absorb solar energy through photosynthesis, they use that energy to turn carbon dioxide into wood and plant matter. But the sun’s energy is captured and stored inside the tree’s wooden structure and remains there, even after the tree dies. When we burn wood the stored sun-energy escapes as heat and light; a small amount of the sun is literally coming back out of the wood. We call it fire. Trees are literally nature’s solar batteries.
