@Virtual_Particle @CMLim @MotherOfUSMarine @ZoSokie @Colmbck @AndHeWhisperedtome @paulbrittgarcia @0331Online Never forget our dear Daddomato !! I had intended to make my come-back to Gab on the day the attacks on Israel occurred but something unconnected prevented me. I will have to set aside my prepared pieces as this news calls for interpretation. So here is an attempted backdrop to this new war, something which has looked to be on the cards for some time now. In fact, I wasn't even in the news loop until the morning after, I have had less than 18 hours to record my impressions against what has been a fast moving background. Something was going to happen but I didn't know what. I ought to have known as just over 50 years ago the Yom Kippur War was visited upon Israel. That was also totally unexpected and six nations had attacked Israel. Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Kuwait. These were materially supported by Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and - wait for it - Cuba and North Korea - those famous bastions of Islam !! Jordan had kept out of it. After just 19 days there was a victor. Israel !! More than doubly outnumbered, Israeli forces had prevailed - the entire Sinai had been taken together with all the Bashan region of Syria and the Golan Heights. Ever since those days, Israel has been unjustly treated as a pariah state by many countries who would not accept the restrictions they placed upon Israel if applied to themselves. How would France feel if all foreign embassies were expected to be situated in Lyons and not the capital of Paris ?? What is more these same foreign states were often supporting the contention that Hamas and Hezbollah should be given observer status at conferences and Gaza should even be given nationhood status at the very time they were launching rocket attacks into Israel. I say this as a non-Jew who was on more than one occasion in Israel when these attacks happened - whilst I was on holiday, on business or even both. Many US presidents signalled their intention to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem but never followed through their words with actions. Then came President Trump and made the bold change, back in 2017. Actions count more than words. Now we are in a situation where there is no way anyone can defend the actions of Hamas. These people, unlike the industrious Israelis, produce nothing of value. 2,000 advanced rockets don't come cheaply. Clearly they have been financially sustained to be a thorn in the side of Israel for many years. Fifty years ago, the Yom Kippur War was an attack by six sovereign states (all with a lamentable record of democracy) upon a seventh state based on an enforced Constitution. Now the trouble makers stand alone and condemned by everyone. It looks as if their entire existence is going to be swept away - certainly that of their imposed and corrupt leadership. They will have brought it upon themselves but the consequences upon many people from all the region's communities is still tragic. Deliverance comes at a cost. To accompany this I have produced a post which summarises the clearly different type of Jew which most people lazily lump into one category when they criticise them. I can only do partial justice to the subject but hope it will encourage others to research more.
