More indigenous European high fertility groups: * Russian Old Believers. Geography/Size: Russia, approx. 1M (excluding approx. 1M in the diaspora outside Russia, mainly N/S America) TFR : 3+ They live both in the cities (Moscow), but many also live in tiny extremely isolated Siberian communities, and may reject government support, passport and registration entirely, so exact number are hard to come by. Their community ideal family planning is to have no planning, and accept children "as God sends" - no contraception, rejecting all abortions as a sin. Articles describing the Old Believers tend to mention large families (18, 15, 13, 12), but it appears their family sizes are still smaller than other religious groups (e.g. Laestadians), so some limitation seems to be applied regardless. But as mentioned, exact data is not available. Notable, they're one of a very few groups than have managed to combine living in cities with maintaining high fertility rates. They're also repopulating otherwise abandoned rural towns.
