☀️ WITH BEAUTIFUL ART & CULTURE INTO A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND! 🌹   🎼 In Richard Wagner's (1813 – 1883) romantic opera "The Flying Dutchman" (1841/42), premiered on January 2, 1843, at the Royal Court Theater in Dresden, a cursed captain is doomed to sail the seas forever. The duet between the characters Erik and Senta in Act II is a key scene in which the hunter Erik tries to dissuade Senta from her dangerous obsession with the fate of the Flying Dutchman.   👌 The lyrical tenor Rudolf Schock (1915–1986), one of the most successful German opera and operetta singers of the 20th century, and the soprano and voice professor Marianne Schech (1914–1999), celebrated for her powerful interpretations of the works of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss (1864–1949), delivered this duet in 1960, wonderfully accompanied by the Berlin State Opera Orchestra, in a perfection that is unparalleled. 🙏   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaNNcGysifM
