I'm not surprised! The Federal Government is wholly responsible for the invasion at the southern border which has resulted in New York City being inundated with more than 100,000 illegal aliens, which the city government has to accommodate on the American taxpayer dime at the expense of public services. President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas are deliberately refusing to enforce existing immigration laws and have kept the southern border wide open to foreign nationals from all over the world, who have heard the invitation that if you enter America unlawfully, the Biden Administration will make no attempt whatsoever to detain or deport you. Instead, the Biden Administration is ferrying these illegal aliens onto planes and buses to be redistributed all across the country, including in New York City. And Mayor Adams has repeatedly pleaded with the State and Federal Governments for assistance to prevent his city from being destroyed by a tidal wave of illegal aliens, which if not stopped, will eventually overwhelm every single Borough and leave New Yorkers outnumbered in their own city by foreign nationals who have no legal right to be in this country! It's clear that nothing will change for as long as President Biden remains in office, and whoever is the next President (or Governor of New York) must pledge to secure the southern border, end the further invasion of illegal aliens, and work with Mayor Adams and others to apprehend them and return them to their countries of origin!
