Although there are several who live within Israel yet who are not true Israelis (Romans 9:6) (Israel = God the Father’s chosen people - Galatians 6:14-16), one can say similar about every other nation on the planet in principle as well. As one example, the United States comes to mind. It’s branded as “One nation under God” yet not everyone is born again (or “born from above” – or “born anew” – John 3:3-6 – https://biblehub.com/greek/509.htm). JOHN 3:3-6 (BSB) Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time to be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit.(”) ROMANS 9:6 (BSB) It is not as though God’s word has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. GALATIANS 6:14-16 (BSB) But as for me, may I never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation. Peace and mercy to all who walk by this rule, even to the Israel of God. It says in Romans 11:26 that “all Israel will be saved” which is a reference to ETHNIC Israel: Those still alive when the end arrives will accept Jesus as Messiah 100%. When it comes to Judaism, Matthew 13:14-15, Matthew 27:25, 2 Corinthians 3:14 and Ephesians 4:18 show the nature of it. The scribes/Pharisees/law experts rejected Jesus as Messiah and instead demanded that the Romans crucify Him and according to the Hebrew Roots Movement along with other cults (both a cult AND a false religion, Scripturally speaking), the finished work of Jesus wasn’t good enough. HRM is an offshoot of the false religion of Judaism. For cults, there’s Ephesians 5:11 but Titus 3:9-11 is aimed directly at Judaism and contains instructions for those born again regarding those wrapped up in it. MATTHEW 13:14-15 (BSB) In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’ MATTHEW 27:25 (BSB) All the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!” 2 CORINTHIANS 3:14 (BSB) But their minds were closed. For to this day the same veil remains at the reading of the old covenant. It has not been lifted, because only in Christ can it be removed. EPHESIANS 4:18 (BSB) They are darkened in their understanding and alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts. EPHESIANS 5:11 (BSB) Have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. TITUS 3:9-11 (BSB) But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, arguments, and quarrels about the law, because these things are pointless and worthless. Reject a divisive man after a first and second admonition, knowing that such a man is corrupt and sinful; he is self-condemned. There are no contradictions in Scripture...EVER. As one born again, I’ll pass on that “Judaism” and “HRM” stuff. Will cheerfully follow the instructions in Scripture instead (Matthew 4:4). Hey, Israel! Count me in (Scripturally, of course). ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** “The main thing is to make sure the main thing is the main thing because without that main thing, you’ve got no thing.” Forever’s a long time. Naturally, that “main thing” is the finished work of Jesus (2 Corinthians 13:5). EVERYONE needs a savior (1 John 1:8-10) since the evil of mankind runs so deep there’s absolutely NOTHING anyone in this fallen world can ever do to rectify it. 2 CORINTHIANS 13:5 (BSB) Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you fail the test? 1 JOHN 1:8-10 (BSB) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us. https://biblehub.com/ For one to be labeled a “Christian” means that person is a “Christ follower”. (A note of caution here is how there’s a difference between imitating Jesus and trusting the finished work of Jesus.) (SIDE NOTE: The term “Christ” is a title, not a name. It means either “Anointed One” or “Messiah”. “Jesus” means “The LORD is salvation”.) (ANOTHER SIDE NOTE: Don’t forget that “LORD” (all caps) in the Old Testament is the HEBREW word. It’s a reference to “Yahweh”. By contrast, “Lord” in the New Testament is the GREEK word. It’s a reference to “Jesus”, which is the English translation of the word “Yeshua”. And yet, they are one in the same...but yet they are not...but yet they are one in same...but yet they are not...but...MORE MYSTERY TIME!)
