Two charts that show you how far we've come against coronavirus. The first is the updated infection-fatality-rate estimates from our own CDC. IFR account for infections that never became official cases with a confirmed test, so light symptoms or asymptomatic as well. Currently the IFR for Covid in America is 0.5% or LOWER for everyone under the age of 65. And it is 0.05% for everyone under the age of 50. This means everyone under 65 has a 99.5% chance of surviving a Covid infection or better. The second chart comes from Governor DeSantis' researcher Kyle Lamb, and it shows our national case-fatality-rate per month since Covid began. This is simply confirmed cases to deaths. Our CFR is down more than 93% since our peak in April of 2020, and is now just 0.59%. This means that if you have a confirmed case of Covid, even before we stratify for age or co-morbidity, the baseline survival rate is 99.41%.
