It is an autumn evening on the Puget Sound in Washington, USA. On the nearby islands, lights from houses add a touch of warm gold to the colorful leaves of the fall landscape. Here, one is not that far from the city of Seattle, with all its noise and urban busyness, but out on the water, there is silence, calmness, a sense of serenity as the sailboat glides tranquilly through the water. It's a good place to be. This painting is called Bainbridge Island Sail, and I created it from photos I took on the Seattle ferry, as we passed by this sailboat on our way into the city. It looked so happy out there, so content on its journey.
