Ice Lake, in the Wallowa Mountains of Oregon, is a place I like to regularly visit. And I'm not alone -- many people who want to get away from the noise take the nine-mile hike: some stay and camp, like we do; one man we met, who lives nearby, regularly jogs up there and back as part of his running regime. Good for him; I'm fine with just steadily plodding and looking around me with each step. I call this painting, Wilderness Lake (it's Ice Lake).
