Re the push to electric vehicles, I got this comment on one of my videos yesterday and I thought it should be shared because I believe it is the truth..... "EV's are dangerous on several fronts, they make no sound, so it makes life much more dangerous for pedestrians, motorcyclists and bicyclists. They can catch fire without warning, posing a dangerous to any vehicles or buildings within close proximity as well as a danger to the occupants of the vehicle. The mining operations required to obtain the raw materials for the batteries are a blight on the earth's surface, produce massive amounts of liquid pollutants, require massive amounts of water, and require massive amounts of fossil fuels to power the mining machines to obtain the ore. Once the ore is in hand it requires massive amounts of energy to perform the dangerous processing of the materials to create the batteries. The batteries once complete, are unstable and are capable of spontaneous combustion especially if they are allowed to get hot during transport. The disposal of the batteries present their own daunting challenges to prevent polluting ground water and from starting toxic fires at trash dumps. Then, the drain on the electrical grid if everyone goes EV will be catastrophic. One EV uses 4 times the amount of electricity the average home uses to run air conditioning over the summer. Right now we are facing rolling blackouts all over the US just to handle air conditioning during our summer. Those rolling blackouts will morph into network wide blackouts once there are tens of millions of EV's added to the drain on the grid. Unless the electric plants are allowed to use clean coal and nuclear, there is no way going EV is going to be good for the environment or for the ability of our mobility. Millions upon millions of EV's will be rendered inoperable due to a dearth of electrical power to recharge them. They will become extremely expensive, pigeon perches."
