Battery Osgood ( one of three gun placements ) Upper Ft.MacArthur.San Pedro Ca. A WWI tactical placement covering the main channel to L.A. harbor. It went defunct as a base in the 80s. I went to arc welding school here. Watched thunderstorms come in late summer nights sitting on the top. The middle picture shows lower below the battery. There are tunnels underneath the hill that branch out into various rooms with metal doors( probably ammo storage rooms ) and the caretaker for the grounds used to secretly rent them out to rock bands. It was found out because they were filming the movie Dragnet with Tom Hanks for two weeks.( snake pit) and we were told to stay away for 2 weeks, but someone tried to get to their stuff and blew the whole thing. You may also recognize it as various places for the T.V show The " A" Team as they filmed there a lot.
