In-Group Preference is something that is heavily studied in the social sciences, and a campaign to destroy that In-Group Preference would be developed and employed if you wanted to destroy the group without ever having to fire a shot. Now, maybe you'll understand why there's such a strong push to 'normalize' interracial relationships in tv shows and ads. Unfortunately, one of the things that isn't often discussed is how this works to fracture the society at a deeper level. Simply put, you cannot have a high-trust society if members of that society can't trust other members. And how can you trust when your fellow citizens happily boast about how they'll support anyone, even people outside the tribe, because it's the 'right' or 'moral' thing to do? If you make things, now not only do you have to compete against other makers within your tribe, but you've got to compete against all the makers from other tribes! Nobody wants to be part of a team that doesn't put its own team first. A 1-point difference makes a huge difference over time. A 10-point difference It reminds me of something Jerry Seinfeld said in an interview, trying to be funny, "When one jew makes money, he makes sure three other jews make money." That doesn't mean that jewish people only ever work with other jews, but that there's central thought in their mind that they should always be looking to better the tribe. If you have to do business with someone, it might as well be one of your own, and it's better to do business with one of your own whenever you can. Solidarity and Fraternity matter. How can you run a nation when 95% of your people don't really care about racial or ethic backgrounds in the politicians that will supposedly be representing them and their interests?
