We all suffer from “normalcy bias”, the tendency to disregard warnings, threats, even events that don’t directly impact us. Our detachment from what’s happening elsewhere, and from what COULD happen to us personally is a vulnerability that too few of us think or do anything about. Consider: ONCE IT HAPPENS IT’S TOO LATE TO PREPARE! Buying an “Emergency” kit off the internet simply won’t cut it. And for most of us, buying and converting an abandoned missile silo into a TEOTWAWKI shelter won’t either. Leaving the city or suburbia and adopting an off-the-grid lifestyle is also a non-starter. The variables and considerations are so numerous and complex: what are the risks/threats?, what to prepare for, how much time and money can you dedicate to preparedness, where you live, the climate, time of year, family composition, medical needs, etc., etc., that the vast majority of us shrug our shoulders and say, “if it happens it happens”, or buy a “Deluxe 72 hour emergency kit” and think to ourselves, “well, at least I’ve done SOMETHING!” Emergencies ranging from mild to catastrophic happen all the time. If you’re spared, life goes on. If you’re affected, it changes: sometimes temporarily, sometimes forever. In view of the current state of the world and our society, the Boy Scout motto is more valid than ever: BE PREPARED. #EmergencyPreparedness #Prepper #TEOTWAWKI #SHTF #Disaster
