Protections for Americans 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 Rule 1: Warrants for Americans, Always Your emails, texts, location, and searches require a judge's warrant based on probable cause—no exceptions except active shooter/kidnapping emergencies. Foreign targets abroad? No warrant needed. 🇺🇸 Rule 2: No Buying Your Data Government can't purchase your location history, browsing records, or app data from brokers to avoid warrants. If it needs a warrant to take it from you directly, it needs one to buy it too. 🇺🇸 Rule 3: One‑Time Collection Only If they get a warrant for your phone records, they delete everything unrelated after 30 days. No hoarding your entire digital life "just in case." 🇺🇸 Rule 4: No Reverse Targeting Can't spy on foreigners as a pretext to get an American's data without a warrant. If you're really after Bob in MO, get a warrant for Bob. 🇺🇸 Rule 5: Locked U.S. Person Database Incidental American data swept up in foreign surveillance gets locked. FBI/NSA need a warrant to search it using your name, email, or phone number. 🇺🇸 Rule 6: Real Oversight, Not Rubber Stamps FISA Court must appoint independent privacy advocates for every mass surveillance request. Major rulings get public summaries (redacted for sources/methods). 🇺🇸 Rule 7: Penalty for Abuse Unauthorized searches = evidence thrown out + agent fired + personal fines. No more "training" and back to work. 🇺🇸 Rule 8: Right to Know (With Limits) If illegal surveillance is discovered, you get notice and can sue. National security cases still get classified protection, but you know when your rights were violated. 🇺🇸 Rule 9: No Blanket "Foreign Intelligence" Excuses "Foreign intelligence" can't justify surveillance of your local drug cartel, domestic corruption, or insider trading.
