It’s why universal suffrage is such a stupid idea. We let people who are not capable of managing a backyard garden vote for people to regulate 100 thousand acre farms. We let people who can’t change their own oil vote for people to regulate how exhaust systems work. An economy of complex machinery and supply chains with almost no room for play or slack is at the mercy of quarter wits who will vote for any huckster willing to offer them a free needle.
