Scammers are out of control. So my family member is in jail and I get a call from someone claiming to be with the county sheriff's office and that they're going to release my family member with an ankle monitor to await trial because the jails are overcrowded. Sounded good until they asked if I had a 'FDIC insured payment method' and wanted $800. Looking into it while on the call I found a page on the county sheriff's website warning about this very scam. I'm good with scammers being executed en masse and thrown into an unmarked mass grave. The world would be a better place.
