“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:43-44 My thoughts: Obviously I’m shocked, heartbroken and angry at these horrific events. The hatred in the hearts of so many makes me weep. The fact that people can’t unite around this is showing the true character of some. It doesn’t matter which side of the political spectrum or divide you are on. No one and I mean not one single individual should be celebrating this or wishing this sick individual had not missed. I read somewhere that someone didn’t even have the heart to pray for Trump. How soulless do you have to be to not even pray for your perceived enemy when an injustice has occurred? I absolutely can’t stand “Brandon” to the point that I can’t even utter his true name but I would never wish harm upon him or celebrate if this was done to him and I would most certainly pray for him and his family. Jesus commands us to pray for our enemies. Jesus also commands us to be disciples and spread the gospel but He also teaches us to shake the dust off our shoes if no one will hear. If you have friends or family that condone this horrific act and they don’t even have a heart of compassion. Pray for Jesus to soften their hearts and perhaps it’s time to shake the dust off. My thoughts go back to the attempt on President Reagan life. Just before he went into surgery he looked at the surgeons and medical staff and said “I hope you are all republicans” Reagan never lost his wit. The surgeon said to President Reagan “We are all republicans today Mr. President” When those planes hit the towers that day it didn’t matter what political party we held we were all united Americans. Last night should unite us all against such evil. That’s my 2 cents. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet. Matthew 10:14
