Think of cultures like bodies of water. Some are fed by clean springs, some by murky streams, others are slowly drying up waiting for rain. Degeneracy is like pouring a sickly, sticky, oily liquid into those waters. It doesn’t mix but floats on the top. At first it’s easy to reach the water and avoid the filth. But as the filth builds up and spreads it gets harder and harder to avoid. Eventually the only way to reach the water is through the filth. Over time we start to believe there is no water, only filth. We don’t have to abandon the water. We can, but don’t have to. Agitate the water enough and the filth breaks up. It retreats into itself. Keep agitating and you make waves. The bigger the waves the more the filth is compacted onto itself. Keep the waves going and you have access to the water again. Keep the waves going and you can clean up the filth one clump at a time. The answer to filthy degeneracy isn’t resignation and letting the filth settle. The answer is aggravation and making waves. (why the degens want you passive) We can make waves from anywhere. I love the idea of getting people closer together and building community. This is mostly defensive. No matter where we go if left unopposed the filth will follow - so we need to learn to make waves no matter what else we do.
