@a I had a friend who wasn't allowed to watch TV, only what they had on VHS and DVD. Growing up I thought her parents were lunatics and controlling, but now I get it. They wanted to instill certain values in their children that they felt the popular shows at the time were challenging. My husband and I have decided our future kids will NOT be watching the bull crap on TV.
