Based on the reporting thus far, there was little damage from this attack and no casualties. Ultimately it was a pipe dream to envision Hezbollah being permanently shattered by Israel's attack on their communications infrastructure. However, with even Hezbollah conceding that Israel landed a severe blow by that attack, the question naturally arises what Hezbollah is capable of doing in carrying on its fight against Israel. Can Hezbollah escalate beyond sending further rocket strikes against northern Israel? Are they now limited to such attacks by the degradation of their communications after Israel's pager sabotage? Sadly, we are sure to see the answers play out one way or the other in the coming days and weeks.
