158 Democrats voted against deporting illegal aliens who attack and assault women. Congresswoman Nancy Mace's bill would also make those who assault women inadmissible to the United States. ***** In addition to deporting migrants convicted of sex crimes, the legislation would also deem illegal immigrants who admit to domestic violence or sex-related charges — or are convicted of them — to be inadmissible in the U.S. ***** https://www.foxnews.com/politics/dems-vote-against-bill-deport-illegal-immigrants-who-commit-sex-crimes Yet Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal calls this “fear mongering”. ***** "Here we are again, debating another partisan bill that fear mongers about immigrants, instead of working together to fix the immigration system," Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., said during debate on the bill. "I probably shouldn't be too surprised. Scapegoating immigrants and attempting to weaponize the crime of domestic violence is appearing to be a time-honored tradition for Republicans." ***** I'm a little confused here. How is getting people who are okay with violence against women out of this country NOT part of “fixing the immigration system”? Why on earth would Democrats want rapists to remain in the United States? I absolutely want people who want to work hard and contribute to building our civic society to come to the United States and feel welcome. But I absolutely want people who think it is acceptable to rape and assault women -- or commit any violent crime -- to be completely unwelcome. That's not “fear mongering”. That's good policy.
