In an odd reversal of the historical trend, the November Producer Price Index prints month on month inflation for goods but slight deflation for services. Given that the PPI is widely taken as a leading indicator for the CPI, are we seeing a precursor to a trend of rising prices for goods just as Donald Trump takes office?
