Far North Heathens is a 501c3 faith based non profit. --- FAR NORTH HEATHENS "Honor our ancestors. Honor our gods. Honor our community. Honor nature." We are reaching out to introduce our organization and share our vision for 2025. The Far North Heathens is an inclusive, faith-based nonprofit that began as a small group of like-minded individuals five years ago. Many of us have faced challenges such as homelessness, recovery, and misrepresentation. Our shared experiences have shaped our mission, and we are now celebrating our third year as an established nonprofit. Living in the North has taught us resilience. With its vast, rugged landscapes and long, harsh winters, our environment mirrors the strength of our community. We host a vibrant annual music festival at Ester Park each summer, celebrating our heritage and culture. However, our work goes far beyond these celebrations. Throughout the year, we organize community outreach events to assist those in need, distributing essentials like food, clothing, and survival gear. These efforts are funded primarily by our members, though we have partnered with the Fairbanks Native Association, the Fairbanks Food Bank, and Stone Soup Kitchen to amplify our impact. For two consecutive years, we have proudly participated in the Fairbanks Homeless Coalition’s Project Homeless Connect. For 2025, we aim to expand our outreach. This includes creating community food and clothing closets, distributing cold-weather survival packs (tents, insulated sleeping bags, etc.), and hosting additional events to provide more assistance to our neighbors. Your support can make a profound difference. We kindly request your help to continue and grow our efforts. Monetary contributions are greatly appreciated, but donations of cold-weather clothing, blankets, canned goods, or other essentials are equally valuable.
