Hazel lived from the late 1800's to near the end of the 1900's. She was a wife and mother. She was a manager of the home, family farm, and family business. She was a woman ahead of her time. Kind of a rebel of her time. She had her own car and drove by herself when many women were not doing that. My great grandfather was frequently gone on business, leaving her to do it all. But they had a great love story that would qualify as romance novel content. He wrote her love letters every day from the road, and even took some photographs himself.
