#Gymnastics, a #precision_athletic_sport currently gets taken for granted meaningly. Gymnasts perform graceful and beautiful #routines appearing easy, but it takes a lot of #practice, #training and grueling #hard_work. A #gymnast either successfully completes a routine, or suffers #serious_injury attempting to do so. Most of today’s young gymnasts take up gymnastics not preliminary of having initial interest, but because of #parents, #teachers and/or #coaches either talking them into it or #pressuring them. For the parents, it brings in a lot of money. For the school it brings in a lot of #recognition. But for the young gymnast, there is little of either, except hourly pay in 2025 averaging below $20.00 per hour. Gymnastics is the only sport in which most athletes are seldom told or warned about safety risks or safeguards until it’s too late. Regardless what’s publicized or shown on TV, 80% of all gymnasts live with life-altering or life-threatening injuries, most of which the mainstream media won’t cover or tell the public about. Most schools claim to change the equipment to increase safety, but rarely ever do regardless of image until after a bad incident. Most congress supporting gymnastics deny potential bills requiring medical insurance companies to cover treatment for injuries regardless of seriousness, unless the gymnast is over 18, yet make it easy for gymnasts to qualify for #disability if eligible.
