My maternal grandmother (Nana) was terrified of hospitals because of the experiences people and some of her friends had back then in the 50s. She used to say, "I know I will die if I go to a hospital. Please never take me there." Well, she was told she had cancer of the liver (extremely rare back then) and they gave her crude chemos which did kill her in short order. She never left the hospital. I was there for a week and the day she died . I witnessed this with my own 16-17 year old eyes. If only she knew what they've been doing these last five years!!!
