Liberty, Justice, and Frall✝️ (@dub)

This is a bit of a separation screed, in the spirit of "a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation." So, my message to the Ether... After giving it a lot of thought, I've decided to take an indefinite leave of absence from Gab, though I've been here and participating since near the beginning (2016, IIRC). I like to think that my posts were (well, mostly, I hope) a positive contribution to the Gab family- at least that's what I was trying for. This isn't entirely about the new posting rules/tolls, although that's certainly part of it. (Ironically, I was literally one week away from having funds dedicated to buy a $500 lifetime membership when the price doubled! Not gonna happen now - there's a Depression on, folks...) Like I said, this is not all about the new policies, but Gab does seem to be engaged in what the FAA euphemistically calls "controlled flight into terrain". I wish Andrew and Gab the best, and hope they pull it out... It's also just that I'm finding all social media to be toxic and an ever-increasing time sink. Life is too precious to spend it looking at a screen, or especially trying to change the minds of people too stupid and/or bull-headed to change. I'm going to put that time into building things and relationships in the real world around me instead. I will miss Gab as a source of news and info that's hard to find elsewhere, but there are a number of good blogs that do that without taking nearly so much of my time. (It would be hard for me to lurk here, though I may try from time to time...) I will, however, forever be in debt to the Gab community for sharing the truth, as we all discovered and validated it together blow-by-blow, back in the early days of the Wuhan flu (later renamed "Covid" to avoid offending the CCP). The facts about the WuFlu became clear here on Gab, nearly before anyplace else - That it wasn't a lung disease, but a blood disease, that it had morphed early to lose the intense diarrhea (hence the run on TP for a lung disease!), that ventilators and Remdesavir killed countless thousands even without C-19 death bonuses, that Quinine/Hydroxychoroquine, Ivermectin, and Lactoferrin+Diphenhydramine in combination with Zinc were proven effective treatments/cures, that the "vaccine" was nothing of the sort, and was completely unproven and carried unprecedented dangers that will be with us forever. (There is no longer any safe blood supply, just for starters, and we've now got kids with this Frankenstein mRNA encoded into their DNA to be passed on to future generations....) I still hope the Q believers (@NeonRevolt, I'm looking at you!) are right, but I also still see no real evidence that they are. I realize there are no good guys in the Ukraine war, but Russia is more right than the utterly corrupt CIA-led Ukrainian puppet government. I am (depressingly) more aware of corruption, crookedness and perfidy across a large number of people groups and organizations. The flat earthers just refuse to look at the world around them. I'll always be for liberty, not tyranny - and both Nazis and Communists inevitably lead to tyranny, and it's been occasionally fun reminding them of that (it usually leaves them spluttering when you ask of one example of a successful Fascist or Communist country...) The ideas behind America are worth saving, even if the nation as currently operating is not, and Gab is one of the places where that idea retains and gains strength. Sincere thanks to @a for his work on that front.
