Friendly reminder to anyone that relies solely on the banking system and has no physical currency backups. I go to my bank today to withdraw cash to put “under my mattress” and the teller apologizes as their system is down so I don’t have access to MY money. Luckily I came back an hour later and their system was back up and I was able to make my withdrawal. What happens if all of your money is in the bank or if it’s all floating in cyberspace and you go to “make a withdrawal” and the system is having technical difficulties? Ok no big deal, try again tomorrow. What happens if the system is having technical difficulties the next day? And the next. And the next. And weeks or months later it’s still down? Like I said, just a friendly reminder.
