I'm not saying I know what's going on with Ye or figured him all out, but I do detect one thing: As a new Christian, he's in what I call the "epiphany cul-de-sac." It's a phase some new believers encounter where they're actually paying attention to scripture and realizing that the truth does not match up with any cultural reference. It never has and never will. It doesn't even match up with presumably Christian cultures all that much. In order to exit this cul-de-sac, Ye will need to either find a mentor (or the literary equivalent, which is unlikely for Ye since he doesn't like to read all that much) or become a leader by his own exegesis. Sometimes, this leads to cults (in either case), certainly not always. However, the outcome is always an imperfect exegesis. Whatever the case, let's pray for Ye.
