JESUS said, > John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. TWO Sabbaths ago, the following questions were asked: 1. How do you show God that you love Him with all your heart, mind, and soul? 2. How do you show your neighbor that you love them as yourself? 3. Define 'Good.' 4. What is the will of God? The first two were answered last Sabbath day. ANSWER TO 3. Define 'Good' GOD alone is the ultimate source of goodness. Because He is perfect, the laws, instructions, and gifts He gives us are also holy, just, and good. GOODNESS is God's Character >Matthew 19:17 No one is good except God alone. >Psalm 100:5 & 119:68 The Lord is eternally good and everything He does is good. >James 1:17 Every perfect and good gift comes straight from God. What is the will of God? GOD'S will is for us to actively live out our faith. It is not just about the words we speak, but about having His law in our hearts, keeping His commandments, loving others, and living with a thankful spirit every day. LIVING a Thankful and Pure Life >1 Thessalonians 5:18 Giving thanks in every single situation is God's explicit will for you. >Thessalonians 4:3 God’s will is your sanctification (living a pure, holy life set apart for Him). DOING Good and Helping Others >1 Peter 2:15 It is God’s will that by doing good deeds, you silence the arguments of foolish men. >John 6:40 The will of the Father is for everyone to see the Son, believe in Him, and have everlasting life. OBEDIENCE from the Heart >Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" enters heaven, but only those who actually do the will of the Father. >Psalm 40:8 Doing God's will brings delight when His law is written deeply inside our hearts. >Micah 6:8 What God requires is simple: do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. >Matthew 12:50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.
